Discussion
1 / Introduction and Discussion of Interdependence: This
discussion contains two parts. Please include both parts in the same
post. Participation in the Introductory Discussion is a University
requirement and is not optional. Please refer to the Discussion
Guidelines for the requirements of the discussion.
Part
I: Tell
us a little about who you are, your degree path and what you hope to learn in
this class.
Part
II:
After reading through this week's readings, what do you feel are the top 3
social environment factors impacting relationships today. Tell why you
choose each factor.
CHFD348 Week 2 Discussion Family Communication
Think
about your relationship with your family of origin, your partner/spouse or your
present family and provide an assessment of family communication by
examining each of the 6 dimensions of family communication (Table 3.5 p.
97). What are the areas where you excel in communication and what are
areas that are in need of improvement? What steps could you take towards
making improvements?
CHFD348 Week 3 Discussion Conflict Resolution
With
any intimate relationship comes conflict. What matters most in a
relationship is how conflict is resolved. Do some research on conflict
resolution other than what you have read in our textbook. What additional
information can you provide that would help to promote conflict resolution.
CHFD348 Week 4 Discussion Gender Roles
Identify
places in society where equal gender roles exist. Are they in certain
kinds of families? Are they in certain kinds of workplaces? Where are
equal gender roles least likely to exist?
CHFD348 Week 7 Discussion Middle and Older Age
Couples
Think
about a middle age couple or older age couple that you know. What are the
positive and negative experiences that they are having at this stage of their
marriage? How does what this couple is experiencing compare with the
information presented in our readings?
