influence parenting
This
week our forum looks at the foundations of where we learn to become
parents. Please answer both parts within your initial posting. Remember
to review grading feedback from previous week to improve your discussion this
week. Follow the rubric when you develop your posting.
As
for all forum questions, please use the forum question to guide your discussion
and write your post in a paragraph(s) format. You do not want to repost the
question and then insert your answer. Using references to support your work is

We
learn parenting skills from many places. Perhaps our biggest influence on our
attitude towards parenting is from our parents and how we were raised. We also
are influenced by media, science, religion, and other sources.
Our
question is, what if a license was required to become a parent, as suggested by
David Lykken in our week one readings. What do you think should be required to
obtain that license? At first blush you may think this could never happen, and
it may not. But the point is to think of why a license could be needed;
think of the benefits, what would be needed to overcome objections. How do
values enter in to the discussion?
Use
one theory from this list and apply it to your argument of license or not.

Week 2 you will use this information to create an enticing flyer for a
parenting class that is designed to help prepare new parents. Your flyer should
include:
- The purpose of the parenting class
– including why it is important
- At least 5 distinct topics that
will be addressed in the class noting why each is important. Be sure to

you that their child loves using a smartphone, iPad, or computer games. The
parent is not sure if it is appropriate. How would you respond if the child is
a toddler or a preschooler? Using this scenario provide an informed response
for each age group that is based on the role you selected (identify which one)
and include reasoning for your response including why or why not this is
recommended or developmentally appropriate for each age citing your resources.

Week 7 Discussion Changes to the nuclear family
1. Teen parents, unmarried
cohabitating and single parents face many hurdles in life that older or more traditional
parents do not face. Explain effective ways they can address these issues?
2. With the economy the way it
is, many adult children are moving back home to live with their parents or some
aging parents are moving in with their adult children because they require
care. Discuss what are some of the challenges that arise (in
either scenario) and suggestions for dealing with those challenges?

restrictive than for special education students who are not deaf, blind, or

CHFD331 Week 8 Weekly Journal Summary (Weeks 1 to 8)
Instructions
The journal is one continuous
assignment that you will complete each week, by following the example below. In
week 8 you will provide a summary. Please follow instructions and review the
rubric prior to submission. A ONE TIME SUBMISSION IS TO BE MADE WEEK 8 as a
single document! A journal will capture your thoughts as you progress through
the class. This assignment is easiest if you complete this weekly and not try
to do it the last week. You will need two distinct topics each week.
What you will want to write about is:
1-something new you learned-
and why it was important.
2- Something that piqued your
interest- and why.
3- This can be a major topic or
merely some fact that you encountered that you found especially interesting,
didn't know prior, or refreshed something that you have forgotten. Why was this
of interest?
Important-
- This information can come from our readings
or from our forums.
- You will want to make sure your topics are
distinct! Underline or numbering the topic is best.
- 100 word weekly is the depth I am looking
for, split any way needed for the two topics.
- In Week 8 , you will also include a 150 word
summary at the end of your journal where you note what was liked, and not
liked in the previous weeks. (In other words - your week 8 submission will
include your weekly journal as well as a summary piece.)

- A journal is not done to APA format,
but attention should be paid to writing skills.
- A journal is NOT a summary or restatement of
topics covered.
- You can use MS Word, or RTF format only. Do
not submit in any other format.

posting. Notice I underlined my topics to make sure they were distinct. It will
also help you make sure you have two each week! Notice also how I made sure I explained
why the topic was important to me. You don't have to use (topic) or (reason) in
your journal- just make sure that you have two topics, underlining or numbering
them is best practice.
Week 1. In our reading this

audire and it is a topic I have not thought about for a long time.
The reason it piqued my interest was (reason why it

The other topic that I found

Week 2. This week I learned
that (topic) omnium percipit usu and
it was interesting because my parents used to do the same thing when I was

The other thing interesting
this week was I learned what a (topic) dicat petentium was. It might be something
small, but it was a new term for me as it was something recently discussed in
our forum and it (why) reminded me of percipit usu.
